This unit does NOT work well. The movement sensor is a hit or miss, (it might work and might not). If the unit will not turn on when there is movement, than the unit is useless. Since mine did not work well, I borrowed another one from a college to determine it's effectiveness. His had the same problem. I called Trimtrac support and was connected with someone in Europe. He was not helpful, so I asked if there was an American branch I could speak with. I was given a number in the US to call. The Problem was never solved. My college and I both are at a loss. Trimtrac blamed the problem on poor Cell Phone service in our area. Funny thing is both our cell phones
work great here. I rate Trimtrac a 0.

I bought this phone two weeks ago. Each time I tried pressing the talk button on the handset to place a call, I would get a message "Try Again" on the screen. So I am not able to use this phone. The worse is that the technical support from Northwestern is very poor. I tried to call them many times. I have not been able to get through. And they don't answer messages I left there. I tried email. I got a reply after four days. But the reply is not helpful. Anyway, I am very disappointed with the phone and their services.

Panasonic KXTC1450W Cordless Phone (White) Review

Panasonic KXTC1450W Cordless Phone (White)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We got this phone as a wedding gift not more that six months ago. After about three months, it began malfunctioning. Sometimes, when the phone rang and you tried to answer it, it would not answer. It would also not charge when you put it back on the base, so the battery would go dead and there was nothing we could do. We tried to contact Panasonic to have it fixed, but we kept getting the customer no-service run around and finally gave up. I recently accidentally dropped the phone off the kitchen counter, and the antenna broke-so it's not too durable either. I came to Amazon.com and purchased the VTech VT 1920c digital cordless phone with caller ID - strangly...the same price as this phone.

The KX-TC1450-W is two phones in one--cordless handset and speakerphone in the base--each with dialing keypad and power supply. Plus Panasonic's Sound Charger technology and the inherent quality of 900 MHz transmission give you improved sound.

VTech t2406 2.4 GHz Analog Cordless Phone Review

VTech t2406 2.4 GHz Analog Cordless Phone
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got 2 of these barebones simple cordless phones because I broke my cordless phone and I realized I had no phone at all at another apartment of mine. They were really cheap and they work exactly as advertised. There is no caller ID, voicemail, or anything else. No LCD display at all. As long as you understand this before buying, I think this phone is a good replacement for a conventional wall or table phone. The only reason I give it 4 not 5 stars is the somewhat cheap feeling of the handset and the antenna looks and feels funny. But for the price, this phone is totally durable, and works fine.

Click Here to see more reviews about: VTech t2406 2.4 GHz Analog Cordless Phone

Perfect for an alcove, end table, bookshelf, or countertop, the compact, upright VTech t2406 offers high-frequency 2.4 GHz analog transmission, which provides greater range and less chance of interference than you'd get with using the standard 900 MHz band. Also enjoy any-key answer (which saves time when you're in danger of mising a call) and 10-number speed dialing. Tired of hunting for the handset? A handy page/handset locator ensures that you'll never waste another minute tracking it down.
The phone's programmable ringer lets you customize its sound, while 30-channel operation further reduces the phone's chances of encountering transmission interference. The stylish t2406 comes with its own battery, which charges in the base unit; VTech's power-saving circuitry also extends usage between charges.

Humminbird 998c SI Combo 8-Inch Waterproof Marine GPS and Chartplotter with Sounder (Navionics Gold and HotMaps Premium Charts Pre-loaded) Review

Humminbird 998c SI Combo 8-Inch Waterproof Marine GPS and Chartplotter with Sounder (Navionics Gold and HotMaps Premium Charts Pre-loaded)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased the Humminbird 998C Si Bundle for my husband's birthday. He has been mentioning for some time how he would love to have one but can not see paying almost $2000 for one. He owns three other Humminbird Fish Finders that were mounted to our 21 foot bass boat. This unit has replaced everything and anything he uses for finding fish and GPS signals.
It was easy to install. He mounted it on the dash with the RAM Mounting Systems RAM-D-111U-C heavy duty RAM Universal Marine Electronic Mount. It sits securely in place with no worries of it taking a plunge into the waters. The Navigation Bundle is a must! It includes all four regions of the US as well as the waters near Canada. Being that it is the "Si" model, the unit is upgradeable and expandable to fit all your needs.
It comes with side sonar as well as down imaging. It's amazing how clear the images are. Use your side image out to 240ft on each side of the boat to find structure on the bottom. Even in three foot of water the side image is clear out past 100 feet. If you find something off to the side of the boat and want to check it out, you simply use the cursor to mark the spot as a waypoint. Then you use the navigation to go back over it to see it on the down scan. You can select an object and zoom in for a closer look. The unit has 2 SD cards slots to store pictures and video recordings of the images. Mark your waypoints with the touch of a button. There is a variety of split screen options. The LCD display is large and the resolution is vivid and clear even in sun light. The GPS is very fast to link up to satellite signal unlike our Garmin hand held.
One suggestion - keep your fingers off the screen. My husband can't stop pointing things out on the screen and leaving finger prints. To avoid smudges and dirtying the LCD screen, we purchased the ScreenGuardZ HD Anti-Glare Durable Screen Protector for Apple iPad and cut it down to size to fit the LCD screen.
If you are looking for a fishfinder that gives you depth, temperature, track and chart plotting, GPS speed, up to 3,000 waypoints, side and down sonar imaging, network capabilities and overall an awesome way to find fish holding structures - then the humminbird 998c SI is for you.
I am an avid Amazon shopper but sadly to say I found this unit for 10% less on a different website, so make sure you do some "searching" before buying.

This is the first Vtech phone that I actually like. But of course, I am a very very picky phone person. I will sum up my review of this phone in one sentence--modern looks, space saving footprint, feels great when shoudered, good sound quality, and solid construction. In all, a very nice little basic cordless phone. One drawback, it's 2.4ghz analog, so you can't use it anywhere near an running microwave oven or active wireless computer networking equipments.

I have owned this unit for two years now and use it in a portable case. It gives amazing detail and is easy to read in bright sunlight. The wide beam is very useful for "prospecting" for fish on big flats.

The Humminbird Fishfinder 565 is a fishfinder for the serious recreational angler that offers incredible ease of use, as well as a big screen for crisp images with better detail and clarity. This little helper may be small, but it packs a wallop and is the perfect companion for your fishing outings, with plenty of functionality and advanced features.
Affordable and compact, the Fishfinder 565 utilizes a dual-beam sonar with a 60-degree wide beam for fish location, as well as a precision 20-degree narrow beam for better bottom and structure definition, and reaches a depth of up to 800 feet. While ideal for small spaces, this fishfinder is big in performance, with real-time sonar that instantly captures the action under your boat at up to 40 times per second, and Sonar Echo Enhancement that reveals the smallest details -- even bait when vertical jigging! All the information you need is displayed on an ultra high-resolution, five-inch LCD screen with 640x320 lines, in 12-level grayscale in your choice of Inverse Grayscale, Whiteline, High Contrast Bottom Black, or Structure ID Bottom Presentation. This fishfinder has a high-speed, micro-dynamic transducer for optimum performance that is reliable up to 70 mph, and even includes water temperature and is speed capable. The Fishfinder 565 is easy to control with X-Press Menus that access the most important controls with fewer button presses, and Selective Fish ID+ that shows fish below as solid symbols and around the boat as hollow symbols. This fishfinder features one-touch zoom with 2x, 4x, 6x and 8x zoom levels, and TripLog with distance, elapsed time, and average speed when used with an optional speed sensor. This system also features a selectable large, easy-to-read digital readout with an LED backlight for night fishing, adjustable chart speed, and a memory that retains your settings, as well as alarms for depth, fish, and battery life. The Fishfinder 565 includes the options of fully automatic operation, or manual operation, with upper and lower range controls. As an added convenience, this finder is ultra-compact in size, with an easy-on, easy-off mounting system that allows it to go almost anywhere. The Fishfinder 565 is built tough with fully gasketed and waterproof construction so it even floats, and is assembled in the USA with a manufacturer's one-year warranty.
The Fishfinder 565 runs on 10-20 volts of DC power, providing 250 watts RMS output and 2,000 watts of peak-to-peak output. This unit operates between the 200kHz (20-degrees at -10db) and the 83kHz (60-degrees at -10db) frequencies, and has a target separation of 2.5 inches to reveal close-hanging fish. The Fishfinder 565 comes as a Transom Mount with a tilt-and-swivel quick-disconnect mount system and measures 7.25 x 7 x 4 inches (WxHxD).

Spark Nano Real-time GPS Tracking Device Review

Spark Nano Real-time GPS Tracking Device
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)

UPDATE: August 24, 2010 Since I had no warranty to speak of, I removed the screws and opened the case. I removed the tail they used to wire the giant battery pack and reattached the battery that was inside the device. It works very well with locating now. I will soon try it in the magnetic case without the extended battery pack to see if I can place it on the outside of my car and still have it work. I do not know if it is possible to conceal it yet and still have it work.
I'm located in an area with very good tmobile service coverage. Instamapper on my G1 phone works wonderfully.
I'm glad I didn't buy more than three months tracking on this device. It will often go days without updating it's location. Tech help says the standard GPS works better with view of the sky. I said, then why sell a magnetic hard case if it won't work while it is in the case?
I even put it on the front seat this morning to see if it would locate and it didn't.
DO NOT buy the long life battery pack. Originally when I purchased it they didn't mention that you have to use the battery pack if you order it, the connection wire is hardwired through the body of the tracker and you cannot use it without the large battery attached. (It makes it very hard to hide when you figure out that it won't work at all inside the magnetic case)
Also, make sure you read return policies for GPS trackers.

Humminbird 407910-1 Fishfinder 596c HD Review

Humminbird 407910-1 Fishfinder 596c HD
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Well, my old Garmin 140 Blue depthfinder died on my ocean going boat. I need a depth finder, as I use it for navigating channels, locating fish, finding the right spot to drop shrimp and crab pots, and so on. So an upgrade is always welcome. Newer technology can make a huge difference, so I bought this for a few reasons. Much newer than my old Garmin, bigger screen, a COLOR screen, and features. I already have a GPS chartplotter so I have no need for a combo unit.
Installing the unit was a snap - the directions were clear and concise. It fit on my dash well, in the old Garmin spot and looks great. The screen is AMAZING... very bright, clean and razor sharp even in direct sunlight. The pixel resolution is fantastic! Having a color unit is great, easy on the eyes and very welcome. Installing the transducer was another story though.
Running the transducer from the transom, to the helm area, was an eye opener. Actually physically installing it was easy enough. But really... a 20ft cable? This is touted as having the ability to run to 1200 feet in depth, and there is a 'saltwater' setting, so one would think a bigger boat. Not many small boats go out that deep, on the ocean, whatever. So you would think they would be thinking people with slightly larger boats would be buying these. So only a 20ft cable on the transducer?!?!? Seriously? And guess what... you can buy extension cables to add 10ft. Way to make an extra buck. Even my old, basic Garmin had 10 extra feet of cable coiled up under the helm! If I hadn't had it all installed, cable run thru the dead spaces, and all... I may very well have returned the unit. I was pretty frustrated. And Amazon does not sell the extension! I was able to locate one, and have it shipped up pronto (thankfully) and it did work.
On the water, it took a massive amount of setting changes to get it to read the bottom accurately, as well as a bit of adjusting on the transducer. The transducer directions were clear enough, but it takes a bit of fine tuning to get a solid, accurate read. It would lose the bottom, it would say I was in shallow water (when I was in over 800') and so on. But eventually I was able to get the angle and height right, as well as the settings. I'm mostly happy with the unit now, although it does seem to flake out occasionally and lose the bottom even when sitting still (It always gets it back in a minute or two). It may need some super fine tuning, but for the most part it is accurate.
I gave the unit 3 stars for the reason of the cable length... it is simply ridiculous that a depthfinder for deep water, and salt water, would only have a 20' cable. I do not have a huge boat... only 24'. And the run from the back of the boat, up the transom, thru any fittings, all the way to the helm station, I would venture a guess that anyone with a boat longer than 17' would need the extension. Had I been smart, and run the cable to size it without actually running it thru all the tight spaces and found out about the short length I would have sent it back. Otherwise, the unit is a 4-5 star unit, depending on if I can fine tune it to stop losing the bottom.

Leviton dimmer works well. The dimmer switch uses 2 touch sensitive pads instead of a slide switch. This is really nice because it retains your last lighting setting. I also like the way it softly raises lighting to the preset level.
These dimmers do get warm/hot even though they are rated at 1000 watts. Read the manual/installation about derating the switches if you are using more than 1 switch (multiganging with others dimmers/switches)
Also note that Leviton has another model for "Magnetic" loads TGM10-1LT. Makes sure this is the one you want.

Ojo Shadow Personal Video Phone - Black (PVP-900) Review

Ojo Shadow Personal Video Phone - Black (PVP-900)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My parents are both in their 80's and both are victims of strokes. It is inconceivable that they could communicate with the grandkids via webcam because they simply cannot use a computer and telephone does not allow me to visually 'check up on them'. Enter 'The Ojo' as we have come to affectionately call it. My Mom who has significant diminished mental abilities from her stroke to our surprise learned on her own to call us with their ojo (press two buttons and that's it)! In fact, it's easier to use in my opinion than a standard telephone...even my [...]calls Pappy and Grand-ma on her own. Seems like setting it up is the biggest fear (all of my family and even cousins now have ojo's) because it is 'new fangeled' but the customer support that I received is second to none; they really love their product. I've not heard anything negative from my family either about set-up or service. I think it took about 20 minutes from opening the box to total set up. If you have family/friends in far away places, it's really a no brainer...these things are the future. Also, when I purchased ours, I did search the internet for competitors but found ojo to be the best design and easiest to use. It's been sometime since then so I don't know what's on the market now but have no incentive to look around as we are completely satisfied. The ability to leave or receive a video message just like a voice mail is also really neat. Imagine coming home and SEEING your grand kids sing happy birthday to you! Priceless!

Nextar X3B 3.5-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator Review

Nextar X3B 3.5-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is the first GPS system, I am using. So I am not in position to compare this with others. This is just my opinion and feelings after I have used it for a month.
The unit is slick, lightweight, comes with a carrying pouch. Display is bright enough to see clearly under the sunshine. The volume is loud enough to be heard clearly even in rough road condition and noise of engine.
Entering and saving data into the system is pretty easy and intuitive. When entering data, the software provides auto completion of city and street names and suggests address range once the street and city entered. In one word, entering the data, navigating to an address is pretty easy. After the system is powered on, it takes couple of minutes to be able to connect to satellite system for GPS signal and becomes ready for navigation withing 1 to 2 minutes.
Software works alright. It provides road names at every turn point so that i do not have to look at the gadget. When i go out off the suggested route it immediately recalculate the new route. In one case, when I did not connect the unit to power, it died because battery was out while I was driving; but as soon as I connected to vehicle power and switched on, it asked me whether I want to continue with current navigation and once I hit "Yes", it continued guiding me. That was great. I mostly traveled around tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, for a month, but I was always impressed with the result.
Additionally it beeps an alert when car speed exceeds speed limit and there are two modes for that speed limit alert - you can configure manual alert or you can select automatic one - but it is very easy to switch.
The manuals talks about software update, but i did not find any ways to do that. i did not call their customer support yet. I did not try the other features like music, blue tooth, etc. yet. I will post an update when i use them.

GPS Angel V4E Red Light and Speed Camera Detector - Includes Lifetime Camera Database Subscription Review

GPS Angel V4E Red Light and Speed Camera Detector - Includes Lifetime Camera Database Subscription
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Got my GPS Angel recently and like it very much. First of all, it's just tiny - about 2.5 inches wide. It also doesn't look like anything someone would want to steal because no one would know what it is. The cord is long and not the curly type, so I was able to fully conceal it from view. It gives both visual and audible warnings of red light and speed cameras. It is supposed to alert near school zones, but it's missed a couple of times. No biggie for me. It can take a minute or so to acquire the GPS signal, but once connected I've had no problems unless going under an overpass or some such obstruction. then the signal comes right back. I especially like being able to add "points of interest": You press one of the kidney shaped buttons on top and it adds that location to the database. Perfect for known speed traps. Also, there was no set up time. It worked right out of the box. And get this, online updates are free for life! So it's a great value at purchase time and over the life of the unit.
As I understand it, due to budget crunches in communities accross the country, police forces are being reduced - mostly in the traffic divisions. In their place, more red light and speed cameras are being installed all the time. They are cheap (and in some cases free) for communities to acquire and operate, they generate a steady revenue stream, they work 24 hours a day, everyday, with no days off, and they are infalliable.
I've heard the database is not 100% up to date. Fine, that may be so. I'll still take 90% - 95% protection for a one time charge for a lifetime. Woundn't you?
